In his seventh season with the team, Zdenek showcased once again his skills in the one-day races, recording a solid string of top 10 placings in Strade Bianche, Paris-Roubaix (where he came close to winning the cobblestone-shaped trophy) and Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne, before taking a beautiful solo win at the National Championships and helping the team stamp its authority on the Tour de France sprints.
“It’s been a good season for me: I got to race the cobbled Classics, the Tour de France and the World Championships. For 2018 I don’t have any specific goals, I just want to continue my improvement and be better than in the previous year, repaying the team for its trust. I made some significant steps forward since joining Quick-Step Floors Cycling and if I will be able to continue like that, I’m sure other nice results will come.”
