Niki, the team’s quintessential attacker, enjoyed another solid campaign, which saw him score a spectacular overall victory at the Eneco Tour, after one of the most grueling and spectacular stages in the race’s history. “There were many great moments in 2016, from winning Le Samyn to finishing first in Hageland, and from sealing the Eneco Tour victory on the Muur to helping the team time trial its way to the gold medals at the World in Qatar. I feel blessed for having and enjoying such an incredible year.”
Niki has two children: Zoey and Luca, who is his number 1 fan and is able to pick out Niki and his teammates on television during the races. Niki has the instinct for attacks, especially from far out, and the ability to hang on alone in front thanks to his skills as a time trialist. “My main goals will once again revolve around the Northern Classics. I hope for another string of good results there”, said the 2014 Paris-Roubaix winner.
