Petr started riding at 10 years of age, following in his father’s footsteps. At 15 he joined the Dukla Praha team and began racing on the road. His experience as a young rider also includes some time spent at the UCI World Cycling Center and a year with a French amateur team. Now he is entering in his fourth year with the team, after his best season up-to-date, which saw him take three important victories – Classic Sud Ardèche, Drôme Classic and Brabantse Pijl – and make his Tour de France debut.
“2016 was a very good year, at the end of which I was happy for my results, but also the improvements I have made. The team believed in me and that made me very glad and fueled me with confidence. I’ll start 2017 with a huge motivation, as I want to have another strong year and deliver other nice victories”, said the talented Czech rider.
