Nicknamed “Atomico” for the fast speed which saw him win more than 30 races throughout his career, Maximiliano hails from a family of cycling aficionados: inspired by their father, all four Richeze boys began forging a career in the sport, with Max proving to be the most successful one, among his most important victories being two stages at the Giro d’Italia, one in the Tour de San Luis, the Pan American Championships and the Vuelta a San Juan.
At the latter, he took two beautiful wins in 2017, one after spending an entire day in the break and the other one after foiling the sprinters’ plans with an attack inside the final two kilometers, which were the cherry on the cake in a season in which he again proved his class as a top lead-out man, piloting Fernando Gaviria to many victories.
